R.M-Tnkrt is a cyborg gl!tcher using surrealist strategies of chance to push the boundaries of feminine subjectivity.
By simultaneously constructing/deconstructing the [anima/us] in/[out of] “bodies” in/ [out of] both physical/virtual architectural spaces, the artist perceives the SELF as phenomena, material [&/or] everything be(in)tween. Her process infuses art history, photography, surrealism, & gl!tch language to shift the binary & expose h-y-p-h-e-n-a-t-e-d h-u-m-a-n c-o-n-d-i-t-i-o-n-s.
Tnkrt is a pseudonym used by the artist to maintain anonymity in a cyber world. She earned her Associates in Film Production from Full Sail University, a Bachelors in Studio Arts from Northeastern Illinois University & recently completed her MFA at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She was awarded the Shapiro Art Center Graduate Research Fellowship for the year 2017 & performed in Screamship which generated post-apocalyptic dance music prose & experimental noise. Currently TNKRT is finishing an audio-visual album entitled "AN!MUS".
