Dharma Talk with Gabriel Halpern

Saturday, January 20, 2018 - 5:00pm to 6:30pm

Join us on January 20th for a lecture and Q&A with acclaimed yoga teacher, Gabriel Halpern.

Yoga speaks to what is deepest in us. Art does the same. Gabriel Halpern discusses the many similarities between the epiphany of art and the willfully induced state of ecstatic meditation, claimed by practiced yogis. Using models of myth and psychology, Gabriel will define proper art, and how it is distinguished from its didactic or pornographic counterparts. The lecture will give viewers an understanding of the social impact of yoga, and it's place within art and culture. This powerpoint presentation will be followed by a Q&A, to gain further insight into the intersection of art and yoga.

Refreshments will be served.
