Fractured Atlas Workshop

Fiscal Sponsorship and Insurance for Artists and Arts Organizations

Led by Dianne Debicella and Jean Ann Douglass from Fractured Atlas

How do I find money to support my work? What is fiscal sponsorship and is it right for me? What types of insurance should I be considering? If questions like these are keeping you up at night, then this is the workshop for you. This presentation is designed for individual artists or arts groups concerned with organizing a business and building support for your creative process.
Fractured Atlas is a nonprofit arts service organization dedicated to strengthening the infrastructure of the nonprofit and creative communities, and this session will include information about all of Fractured Atlas’s services with a specific focus on fundraising and insurance for artists.

Dianne Debicella is Fractured Atlas’s Program Director for Fiscal Sponsorship. She helps over 2,700 sponsored artists and emerging organizations, representing all artistic disciplines, find funding and other resources to support their work.  She received her B.F.A. in photography from Massachusetts College of Art and is an alumna of The Woodhull Institute. Dianne completed her Master’s of Professional Studies with distinction from Pratt Institute’s Arts and Cultural Management program. Dianne previously worked as a Project Coordinator for a restoration painting studio and as a Manager of Site Development for Planet Aid.

Jean Ann Douglass joined the Fractured Atlas staff in September 2011, and is the Program Specialist for Insurance. She received her MFA in Performance and Interactive Media Arts from Brooklyn College and holds a BFA in Dance and Theatre from Tulane University. She has held many positions in the arts in New York, including three years at Joyce SoHo, event producing with The Field and Pentacle, and teaching a course in community-based performance art as an adjunct professor at Brooklyn College. As a director, performance artist, and projection designer, Jean Ann’s work can be seen in Off-Broadway theaters, the backs of rental trucks, and many places in between.
