Fred Burkhart has recently been diagnosed with cancer. Like most artist in America, he is one of the millions without medical insurance. This is a fundraiser to help him with his medical expenses. Cover will be a donation of $3+ and Fred’s art will be hanging on the wall for purchase. Music will be provided by Peter Propaganda and friends.

Looking for 1 or 2 artists interested in sharing this 615 square foot studio space located in the historic Fine Arts Building. The Fine Arts Building has an active artist community hosting exhibition opportunities every month during their Second Fridays open studios event. The space has natural diffused light through a wall of windows from the lovely courtyard clear space and also comes with spot and recessed lighting, hardwood floors, and air conditioning. The space can be subdivided by movable partitions depending on space and privacy requirements of each resident artist. Possible classroom and/or gallery use.
Monthly rent per resident artist dependent on number of artists and relative space used. With space divided equally between 3 or 4 artists total rent would be approximately $370 and $280 respectively.

The 1st North Park Art Walk will take place October 9 & 10, 2010 from 12pm-6pm in Chicago’s newest emerging art zone. Dozens of professional Chicago artists will display their works at galleries and warehouses along the 5500 block of N. Kedzie and in studios and storefronts on the 3200-3300 blocks of W. Bryn Mawr Avenues. An Artist’s Opening will take place on Friday evening, October 8th from 5-9pm at the Koh-Varilla Guild, 5518 N. Kedzie.
Over 40 local artists of various medium along with filmmakers will participate in this free event. Families are invited to bring their children to the North Park Art Walk. There will be a children’s art project sponsored by Northeastern Illinois University. Documentary film screenings will be held on Saturday October 9th at Northside College Preparatory High School, 5510 N. Kedzie.
